Is this suitable for my vehicle? If it has injectors then its for you.!! Cars , bikes, boats , trucks minibuses, lorries and more.
How much does this service cost? This will vary slightly on make and model of your vehicle but prices are around £90 depending on the size of the engine.
How often does it need to be done? It is recommended every 15000 miles and less if you do mainly town driving.
Is it harmful to my engine ? It removes the harmful deposits and returns the engine back to original clean state, with no known side effects.
My car is a hybrid , does it need cleaning Yes this would also benefit from this service.
Can I not just remove my DPF if it becomes clogged? No not any more! - It has been a popular practice to remove the DPF when it has become blocked as this seemed an easier option, however in 2014 it was made illegal to operate a car that has had the manufacturer fitted DPF removed. MOT's also now include an emissions test that will catch out cars with missing DPF's. Our patented DPF cleaning system supplied by Terraclean allows us to clean the DPF without the need of removal from the vehicle, saving pounds on labour costs and keeping your vehicle legal.
Engine decarbonisaton - what is it
Petrol and diesel engines build up carbon deposits inside the cylinders over a period of time. This carbon build up happens for various reasons – from improper burning of fuel, to substandard fuel quality and general build up with age. It deposits itself as soot around exhaust valves, in the exhaust, on the cylinder head, on the piston and on the intake and exhaust manifold. Over a period of time, especially in older cars, this carbon build up can lead to valves not closing properly, spark plugs fouling, exhaust sensors failing and other issues. Some of the first symptoms of carbon build up will include a lack of power and low mileage from the car. Severe cases will also show up as black soot deposits spilling out of the exhaust.
There are two ways in which an engine can be decarbonized – Chemical decarbonisation and physical decarbonisation
